Whether you’re looking to mark a special occasion or just have a good time out on the water with up to 24 guests, Schooner Serenity is available for customized private charters. Captain and crew are included with every private charter.

We’ve been selling out as far as 2 weeks in advance in 2021. If you’re interested in a private charter, please get in touch as early as possible so we can check availability and reserve a time for you. We do hold some time slots for ‘last minute’ availability as well.

Deposit & Payment
We require a 50% deposit to hold the date and charge the other 50% on the day of the sail. We’re also willing to work out another payment plan with you if necessary.
High Seas
Backup Plan
A few days each summer the waves on Lake Michigan can be a little high for pleasant sailing conditions. If the weather is too rough out on the lake we will still cruise the calm & scenic Kalamazoo river so your event doesn’t have to be cancelled.
Food & Drink
We don’t provide catering ourselves but allow you to bring on mostly any kind of food and drink that you’d like. We can also recommend local restaurants that offer excellent options.
Early Access
Celebrating a special occasion? You’re welcome to board 15 minutes early to set up your decorations, snacks and drinks!
Meeting Point:
Please arrive 15 minutes early at the boat dock located at 219 Union St in Douglas, MI.
Parking
There is plenty of parking available for you and your guests in the big lot next to the boat dock.
What to bring:
It can be a little chilly on the water so we recommend bringing a light jacket.
Any food or beverage you want to enjoy during your sail (alcohol is permitted!)
Age Restrictions:
We do not allow children under the age of 4 for safety reasons.
Also, please note that children ages 4-6 must wear life vests while on board. You may bring your own (Coast Guard Certified Type II) but we also have standard issue orange life vests available for all.

Local company, Dream Day Weddings, is a partner of ours and has planned picture-perfect weddings aboard Schooner Serenity.
Weather Contingency:
Safety is our number-one priority when taking our guests out on the water. In case the weather decides not to cooperate, we’ll be in touch on the day of your sail.
We may still sail if there is light rain in the forecast but will cancel the trip if the weather or conditions are unsafe in any way.
If we cancel the sail due to weather related reasons, we will try to reschedule you if possible. If rescheduling isn’t an option then we will automatically issue you a refund.
