About Us

Hi there! We’re the Morris family, founders of Sailing Saugatuck and Sailing South Haven. We’ve been sailing charters with our small but mighty 6-pack sailboat, The Margaret Ann, in South Haven, MI since 2010. After years of dreaming and searching for the perfect schooner, we’re excited to finally make the debut of our very own Schooner Serenity in Summer 2019.

With the experience gained and lessons learned from our years running Sailing South Haven, we couldn’t be more proud to add another boat to our fleet. We can’t wait to share Schooner Serenity with folks who call Saugatuck home and also those who come to visit this special corner of Michigan.

The Schooner Serenity

Schooner Serenity is a two-masted, gaff-rigged schooner designed by Tom Colvin and built in the USA. She features two cozy cabins and a charming teak-accented deck. She was originally built as a cargo schooner but was eventually converted to a passenger vesse and sailed as a chartered schooner in historic Yorktown on Virginia’s Eastern Shore for many years.

2019 marks her first year sailing the Great Lakes from her new home port in Saugatuck/Douglas.

Why sail with us?

Comfort and safety.  Schooner Serenity is outfitted with all essential safety gear, and undergoes regular inspections to ensure everything is in tip-top shape.

Flexibility.  Pitch in and help handle the sails or kick back, relax and enjoy the scenery.  Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a first-timer, our crew will host an unforgettable sailing experience for your entire group!

BYOB. We allow our guests to bring their own wine or beer to make their sailing experience even more relaxing! Sit (and sip) back and relax while you enjoy the serenity of the lake and its surroundings. A cooler is provided to keep your beverages chilled throughout the duration of your sail.
